While the name can be a bit misleading, Macy's One Day Sales often run over the course of 2 days. The first day typically offers preview deals of up to 70% off. These carry over into the second day, giving you time to mull over a few of the deals before buying.

During these sales, you are able to stack coupons to save even more money on already discounted items. It's also a great time to look for clearance markdowns, as stock gets rotated and heavily discounted during this period.

Daily Deals & Weekend Specials (Ongoing)

Macy’s best spontaneous discounts often fall on the Daily Deals and Weekend Specials, which are frequent, short sales that typically run for 24 hours and are used to clear stock. Although these are quite sporadic, they do run often.

These sales are great to watch for, especially if you've been eyeing some big-ticket items that you hope will go on sale. Weekend discounts are deeper and happen at least once a month.

Last Act Clearance: Macy’s Deepest Discounts (Year-Round)

The Last Act Clearance is the highlight event for serious budgeters. It offers some of the largest discounts of the year and is often used to clear excess stock. This sale typically covers a broad mix of homeware, fashion, and accessories and is the best time to stock up on essential clothing and homeware items.

How do you know if an item has reached its final markdown price? Look out for price tags that end in $0.06—these indicate that the item has reached its final markdown and will not be discounted further. It also means that these items are the most likely to sell out, so get in quick.

These sales are less frequent but occur sporadically year-round.

Semi-Annual Sales (January & July 2026)

Macy’s semi-annual sales run twice a year, in January and July, and are some of their most anticipated sales.

It's the perfect time to stock up on winter and summer essentials, refresh your home, and buy the kids some new clothing without breaking the bank.

During this time, you can expect up to 75% off sitewide and in-store. The start of January and July is the perfect time to keep an eye out for these semi-annual sales and check to see if your cart has been discounted.

Valentine’s Day Sale (February 1–14, 2026)

Macy’s annual Valentine's Day sale is the perfect time to treat that special person in your life, whether that be a partner, a friend, or, naturally, yourself. Macy’s Valentine's Sale runs from the start of February all the way through Valentine's Day, giving you two weeks to shop for the perfect gift.

During this sale, you can expect huge discounts on jewelry, fragrances, and gifts. This is the best time to splurge on designer perfumes and watches at a huge discount.

Presidents’ Day Sale (February 13–16, 2026)

The Presidents’ Day Sale comes with big discounts on a broad mix of furniture, mattresses, and home goods. It's the jackpot for people who are renovating, moving houses, or looking to refresh their homes.

During this time, you can expect up to 60% off a broad mix of furniture, making it a great time to invest in that new bed you’ve been meaning to get or replace that sad-looking couch in the corner of the room.

Spring Sale (March–April 2026)

The annual Spring Sale runs from March to April and offers big discounts on spring fashion, activewear, and outdoor essentials.

Macy’s Friends & Family Sale now runs several times a year. In 2026, it ran April 22–May 3 and June 9–15, and the next one is expected in late October into early November.

This sale offers up to 30% off select items, plus an extra 10–25% off categories like beauty, jewelry, and mattresses. Remember that you’ll need the discount code at checkout, and many designer brands are excluded. If you prefer shopping online, look out for shipping at no charge on qualifying orders.

Memorial Day Sale (May 22–25, 2026)

Macy’s big mid-year sale is Black Friday in July, which runs right in the middle of summer and offers some of the largest discounts storewide. In 2026, it ran from July 21 to July 26.

During this sale, you can expect up to 70% off select items, spanning clothing, jewelry, and homeware. This is the perfect time to buy some summer clothing, including dresses, sandals, and swimwear.

Back-to-School & Labor Day Sales (August–September 2026)

The Back-to-School sale is the perfect time to invest in some school gear for the kids and get them ready for the year ahead. During this time, there are large discounts on clothing, backpacks, dorm essentials, and school shoes.

Later on, the Labor Day Sale (which wraps up on Labor Day, September 7, 2026) offers discounts on furniture, bedding, and home office supplies, making it a great time to refresh your home and invest in your office space.

Columbus Day Sale (October 10–12, 2026)

Veterans Day Sale (November 6–11, 2026)

During the Veterans Day Sale, which is expected to run from November 6 to 11, you can expect up to 70% off a broad mix of electronics, fashion, and home essentials. It's a great time to get ahead on holiday shopping before stores get too busy.

Black Friday Season at Macy’s (November 22–30, 2026)

Last year, Macy’s also ran Black Friday Early Access deals in mid-November, so watch for early deals starting around November 9. The After-Christmas and End-of-Year Clearance is when items that didn't sell over Black Friday, Cyber Monday, or the days leading up to Christmas are slashed in price.
